Risks of Artificial Baby Milk (ABM)

AMB is a foreign substance, unlike natural breastmilk.

Formula costs $1200-$3000 or more per year.

Infants who are fed artificial baby milk are significantly more likely to require medical care for otitis media, lower respiratory tract illness, or gastrointenstinal illness than infants who are breastfed for at least three months. (Pediatrics 1999; 103:870–876)

Artificial Baby Milk may increase the risk of: Diabetes (IDDM & NIDDM), Invasive Pnuemococcal Ds. (Pheumonia, meningitis, bacteremia), ovarian cancer, asthma and allergic disease, eczema, lower respiratory RSV pneumonia, diarrhea, lymphoma, leukemia, celiac disease, premenopausal breast cancer, otitis media (ear infections), urinary track infection, inflammatory bowel, and Crohn’s.

Artificial Baby Milk may also increase the risk of: multiple sclerosis, botulism, obesity, heart disease, dental caries (cavities), need for othodontics, SIDS, and obstructive sleep apnea (snoring).

Updates pending.
